    Event Nachhaltiges Lieferkettenmanagement

    Sustainable supply chain management

The implementation of sustainability in the supply chain is a complex but exciting challenge for many companies. At the 2nd CSR Leaders’ Circle organised by Systain in cooperation with akzente in 2014, this was examined from a variety of perspectives. More than 70 CSR experts from the retail, automotive, financial and chemical industries as well as representatives of civil society and experienced experts discussed success factors and implementation options. Among those present were company representatives from ALDI, Bahlsen, BASF, Bertelsmann, BMW, Bosch, CDP, Continental, Daimler, Deutsche Bahn, Rossmann, Dr. Oetker, EDEKA, HUGO BOSS AG, Merck, Miele, OSRAM, Otto Group, Schaeffler, Schwarz Gruppe, Siemens and Volkswagen.

Success concepts for sustainable supply chains

The requirements for sustainable supply chain management are increasing. Legislators, investors, customers and stakeholders are increasing the demands on companies – regardless of industry, size or supply chain structure. Therefore, Systain hosted a CSR Leaders’ Circle in 2019 on the topic of “Success Concepts for Sustainable Supply Chains”, in which guests from politics and business participated to comment on current developments. The event also served to present and discuss the findings of Systain’s benchmark study on Germany’s most important industries. Keynotes were given by representatives of: Zeiss, Thyssenkrupp, German Federal Foreign Office, Volkswagen and econsense.

Menschenrechte im globalen Kontext Diskussion zwischen Unternehmensberaterinnen

Managing human rights in a global context

In 2018, Systain organised a CSR Leaders’ Circle in which 60 participants from 44 companies, associations, NGOs and the government took an in-depth look at the topic of “Managing human rights in a global context”. The event consisted of a mix of practical short presentations – from BMW, Merck and Germanwatch, among others – and interactive workshop formats.

    Scope 3 Management

The CSR Leaders’ Circle Systain in June 2014 dealt with the opportunities and challenges of a carbon management strategy for greenhouse gas emissions from indirect suppliers. Trends and possible actions for companies in the area of carbon management were presented. Around 50 participants from business and science attended Systain’s cross-sector and dialogue-oriented event format, including from adidas, Beiersdorf, Bertelsmann, Brose Fahrzeugteile, Daimler, Deutsche Bahn, Deutsche Lufthansa, Deutsche Telekom, K+S, KiK, KSPG, Otto Group, Bosch, Symrise, Volkswagen and Wacker Chemie.

    Carbon Accounting Lieferkette

Carbon accounting for climate targets in the supply chain

Corporate climate protection can no longer be limited to pure CO2 reporting. However, adopting 1.5° compliant climate targets poses a number of strategic and operational challenges for companies, especially when it comes to indirect (scope 3) emissions. Therefore, Systain dedicated a CSR Leaders’ Circle in 2020 to the topic of “Carbon Accounting in the Supply Chain”, attended by 30 well-known brands from various industries. Thanks to interactive breakout sessions, the first-ever digital event enabled an unvarnished exchange among participants on challenges and solutions for carbon accounting for climate targets in the supply chain. Jens Plambeck, who is responsible for this topic at Bayer, gave an introductory keynote speech.

Great event! The exchange with the other participants, e.g. in the workshops, was very valuable for me. I took away many practical suggestions for my daily work.

    Janina Beduhn, K+S KALI GmbH

The event was very well organised and very interesting. The discussions with the other participants were very informative, educational and inspiring.

    Karina Faßbender, Merck KGaA
